After creating a new execution package a full deployment is needed. This can take a lot of time. I understand a deployment is necessary for the changed objects which are included in the execution package. So I prefer a deployment of only the objects that are changed and are only included in the just made execution package.

Deploy only modified objects after create new execution package
After you create a new execution package, you do not have to do a full deployment if there are no other changes.
Right click on the project name in the tree, goto Advanced, and select Save as Deployed version.
Now your scheduling changes and execution package changes will be in effect.
