Deploying a partial project - or parts of a given project

We are in the position where we are working major changes against a given project.  The changes are expected to take some time to complete.  Meanwhile, smaller MOB projects force us to make changes.  We would need a solid methodology for deploying ONLY the portion of the project necessary to deploy the MOB projects.  We are a SOX company and separation of duties are a large issue here and we do NOT want to manually make the changes directly in production.  We also do not want to deploy untested objects into our production environment by deploying the entire project.  This is a serious issue for us, and we need a solution if we are going to continue to make use of TimeXtender as part of our BI solution.

Thanks!

Hi Jan

If we could easily categorize or have work items in some sort of deployment buckets that we could then mark to be guarded as a whole when other finished items need to be deployed that would make it more manageable. Having to guard and then unguard each object separately is somehow a tedious task.

Best regards,
Andri

Hi all

I agree with Andri - guarding separate objects is too error prone.

I work in a regulated environment too. Up until now, we only had unregulated information in the datawarehouse, but there is a demand for regulated reports as well. We're planning to create a second "regulated" datawarehouse outside of TimeXtender, and do it the old way using manually created SSIS packages managed in tfs.

TimeXtender is a great tool, very fast to create a datawarehouse, but not suited yet for a regulated environment. A link with tfs would be awesome!

Regards,

Tom.
