In a large project, you might do a differential deployment on a perspective. After resolving what needs to be deployed you get the dialog with the entire project tree and a few objects are marked for deployment. It would be useful to have a button to filter out all the objects that are not marked for deployment so you can have a good overview of the objects that you're about to deploy.

Hi Andri,

A couple of features that might help are the "review steps" function in the deploy window, which does essentially show you a list of everything that's going to be deployed, although you can't modify anything from there.

Another option would be to use the "Export Deployment Steps," function, which you can find by right-clicking on one of your databases or on the project node under Advanced.

These are not exactly what you are asking for here, but I hope they might be useful in the meantime!

Best regards,

Hi Doug

The "review tasks" does show me all the steps that will be deployed. The problem is that it displays the entire project tree and marks what will be deployed. I would like to see ONLY the objects that are marked for deployment by default and have button/checkbox to switch to the current view.

Hi Andri,

I can see how that format would be difficult to use, and I agree that this would be a very hand feature to have!

Best regards,

I'd like to pull this feature up again.
It's really hard to comprehend what is about to be deployed when you are working in a project with a few hundred tables.

Having the option to export what was deployed to an elegant pdf report after a successful deployment would also help to make a structured deployment workflow more natural.
