It is currently not possible to send an execution package from the execution tab to the queue.

Would be handy to do this as well. E.g. run a stage full load execution package in the background while you work on your DW or Semantic Layer stuff.

Hi,

While there's no menu option, which admittedly makes this rather hard to discover, you can actually execute an execution package in the execution queue by dragging it to the Execution Queue window.

Cheers,
Thomas

Aha a hidden option ;-).

Could you simply add a right click option to the execution package itself to make it more intuitive?

Yep, something like that would make it a lot less hidden. Another option could be to pop up the "Deploy and/or Execute" window (with deployment options disabled)  just like when you click Execute on a table.

I can see that my last post might have bee a bit unclear - my idea is simply that the "Deploy and/or Execute" window should open when you click "Execute" on an execution package, enabling you to "Send to Execution Queue". That would be consistent with how it works when you execute a single table.

But it's interesting to know the context for your initial suggestion, though I suspect running an execution package in the queue is useful in many cases.
